A PRESTWICK podcaster was delighted to welcome a world renowned comedian onto his show.

David McIntosh released his interview with Jimmy Carr on his YouTube channel this week.

On his show, 'The Development by David Podcast', the Prestwick man has interviewed several famous faces including Reebok founder Joe Foster, Ayrshire entrepreneur Sir Tom Hunter, 80s pop star Sinitta, and Example.

Jimmy Carr became one of the biggest names so far to join David on his podcast, which he started after the death of his mother when he was aged just 21.

David, who grew up in a council estate in Prestwick, started the podcast from his bedroom during the Covid lockdown and has produced more than 100 episodes since then.

He describes the podcast as an opportunity for him to "share origin stories as a self-development tool".

David was delighted to get Jimmy on the show after he reached out to the comedian earlier this year.

David's episode with the 8 out of 10 Cats host, which is available to watch on YouTube now, covers a range of fascinating topics, from Jimmy discussing being 'cancelled' to discussing intimate details of David grieving his mother.

David said: "Beyond the dark mask you've seen on stage and on TV, Jimmy's origin story is complex, and his thinking is philosophical.

"I was blown away by how he has turned his remarkable life story into a set of lessons for us all.

"Despite how he presents himself, Jimmy’s story is one that begins as a working-class Irish immigrant in Slough, and will inevitably end with him being cemented as a legend when his physical being is no longer around.

"He is a hero of mine. He also astounded me with novel ideas around comedy’s role in society, how to serve your future self, and the importance of experiential learning.

"Filmed in the very basement where I first fell in love with stand-up, this episode is a full-circle moment."
